The fully integrated design of Kirby's artwork in the late '70s early '80s makes the look of it as pure art one of my favorite periods, It's a shame these weren't inked by Mike Royer, but the pencils were so tight they shine through the inking.
To my eye Kirby was humming like a finely tuned machine during these years. The story telling, the arrangement of blacks, the design, and balance of the page create an effect which works great as comics, but would look great on a wall.
