Ayer's inking

This is credited as inked by Dick Ayers however its bold strokes and strong contrast isn't typical Ayers in my option. It reminds me more of George Roussos' inking...

Also if you zoom in you can see Stan's writing in the balloons. This is pre-Kirby margin notes that start to appear in July 1964.

Do I have to do everything here?

Hey, Mr Tom K, does the "K" stand for smoking Krack? ;-)

No wonder it reminds you of G. Roussos… 'cause that's Roussos inking there!
You guessed the inker right (still wrong in the credits (Heck)) but messed up with the issue and page numbers.

This is page 2 of issue#4 instead of page 11 of issue #2, sir !

Raaaah… Now I'll have to proof read everything from the beginning or I won't be able to sleep good!

Yep, must be on Krack

I messed up the issue number and page, not sure how, late night additions I guess. Will be more careful.

Found the inker credit to Roussos made the updates.

I love the Showcase and

I love the Showcase and Essentials formats. Not because they are inexpensive, but because they reproduce the art in B&W. The new Jack Kirby Omnibus DC just published has got me drooling over the fabulous inks by Kirby, but also wishing I could see the material in B&W. Kirby did an amazing amount of fine rendering on many of the panels, and it's often obscured the the colour in the book.
