I remember reading an interview with Joe Sinnott in which he took pride, and rightly so, in the way he drew rocks. Looking at this page, he sure had a solid competitor in Frank Giacoia.
TOS #81 was a really strong issue.
both the layouts, the inks, the story.
classic cap vs RS issue (ok, no rs this page).
even the last three panels are great!
Solid as a rock

Rock on
Jack did draw good rocks--so Joe and Frank did have a good foundation to work from.
This Page Rocks
(Pun intended).
Who was the writer on this issue?
Words of mouth
Kirby was the writer although the issue will only credit Lee who did the dialogue and editing.
WriterS
As with all the Lee/Kirby stuff, the plotter was Kirby and the dialogue and captions were written by Lee, based on Jack's margin notes.
